Documentary - EVALUATION

Image
Pre Production, Planning and Research. What worked? I really enjoyed this part of the project as it really allowed me to explore my job role as Researcher and DP. I wanted to know exactly what went into making a documentary and also with current circumstances, I wanted to research how to get the best footage from home, especially as I only had my Iphone. It was also important for me to understand what went into making a documentary as I mentioned above, with styles like the impact of narration and interview questions. I wanted to ensure as a group I was putting in as much as I could so that I was contributing into our team and ensuring we were making a professional documentary that continued to meet the remit of BBC Three and our target audience of 16-34 year olds. I found it beneficial from doing this research, as it allowed me to focus on the tips and tricks that I gained from using different resources to also help plan out the documentary. Documentary - PRE-PRODUCTION

Image
Risk Assessment -  Created by Katie Lovell The Risk Assessment I completed below which was sent and signed by Laura, is to give me permission to film within my own home. Due to the current circumstances we are having to film interviews through our computers and any potential cutaways. The Risk Assessment is there to ensure the safety of me and any family members within my household. You can see the Risk Assessment below. If this step wasn't completed, it means that there would not be insurance covering me if anyone was hurt or the equipment became damaged, that's why it is so important to have a risk assessment to be able to analyse the risks during production and to minimise any chance that a injury or situation could occur. Storyboards - Created by Katie Lovell To ensure as a group we were all of an understanding of the story to our documentary, I created the storyboard for everyone below. I did the drawings and the storyboard which me and George used for t...

Documentary - TEST SHOOT

Image
Introduction          HOME SHOOT I decided to do test shoots to ensure that I was aware of the troubles that could arise during shoot week, I also wanted the opportunity to use Filmic Pro. As I have not used it before but I have done research on it, I'm excited to to see if my research comes into practice and I get some good quality shots with my Iphone. What went well? Overall, it was really beneficial to plan three future shots I am wanting to put forward for the documentary. As DP however with the current circumstances I have found it really hard to put forward footage to be used and fulfill my job role. I had planned to do three shots which you can see below as well as the stock footage I have discussed in another blog post and already put forward to our editor Stan. It's hard to find footage that would be relevant to our documentary of Fake News at home, so I attempted to film shots that could be used to segway into another part of the documentary wit...
